d20 was contracted to undertake the groundwork at the new multimillion pound Brislington Enterprise College, working for Skanska the main client. Skanska are currently undertaking a number of PFI schools in the Bristol region

The primary stage of the contract was to construct the main foundations and services for the structure to sit on. The floor slabs followed. 1000’s of square meters of concrete have been laid to achieve this large footprint. This progressed well with a satisfactory completion date achieved.

The second phase of the project was to then connect from the footprint all the main services making the school live. Following this is the completion of the hard and soft landscaping.

Good organisation and communication of labour and logistics is key on such large sites, as to maintain a progressive approach. Just walking around a site of this size will take you the best part of an hour! Safety is paramount on all our sites but on this site especially, with so many other trades running at the same time.

This site is run on a daily basis by the site team, comprising of a site manager, a site foreman and a site engineer all working together on progress and safety. This branch is connected to main office via contract managers and safety consultants based in Almondsbury.

We are all working together to a common goal, a quality product that our clients are satisfied with.
